Victorian Rose Soap
We have dozens of beautiful rose plants scattered around the farm and were inspired to create a bar of soap that rivaled their beauty and elegance and reminded us of days gone by, something antique, rustic, old fashioned. The result was our Victorian Rose soap bar from the Violet Valley Soap and Lavender Shoppe.
To achieve our objective, we collected rose hips, ground them into a fine powder and blended directly into our soap base. Rose hips contain a very high concentration of vitamin C in addition to vitamins E, A, and D, which make them a potent antioxidant. They are also high in fatty acids, giving them anti-inflammatory properties. In powder form, they act as a gentle exfoliant. Next, we collected the rose petals, which we dried and used to garnish the top. Finally, to enhance the natural fragrance of our homegrown ingredients, we carefully selected a perfect rose fragrance oil.
Saponified Oils of Coconut, Sustainably Sourced Palm, Olive, Castor, Shea and Avocado, Rose Fragrance Oil, Sodium Lactate, Rose Hip Powder, Red Oxide, Mica, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Rose Petals
Coconut: a natural oil that has excellent cleansing properties and creates plentiful bubbles. It is used in conjunction with other base oils such as Olive in order to contribute hardness to make soap longer-lasting.
Palm: a natural base oil that is used in conjunction with softer base oils to contribute long-lasting hardness. When used in conjunction with coconut oil, it helps to supply longer lasting smooth, creamy bubbles. We use only sustainably sourced palm oil in all our soaps.
Olive: a natural oil that creates a very gentle moisturizing soap with mild and creamy lather and tiny bubbles. Perfect for babies, the elderly and people with sensitive skin. This is among our favorite and most utilized base oils.
Castor: a natural oil that contributes to a stable, bountiful lather. More importantly, it draws moisture to the skin.
Shea Butter: a natural base oil used for its softening and moisturizing qualities.
Avocado: a natural base oil used for its moisturizing and conditioning qualities. Because it is not fully converted to soap like other base oils, it retains skin-loving oil in your soap bar and is loaded with vitamins A, B, D and E.
Rose Hips: contain a very high concentration of vitamin C in addition to vitamins E, A, and D, which make them a potent antioxidant. They are also high in fatty acids, giving them anti-inflammatory properties. In powder form, they act as a gentle exfoliant.
